TheHomeschoolingCompany Quick Start Curriculum Resources About Compare Pricing Placement Blog

High school homeschool curriculum with lessons and records.

From Algebra to advanced electives, your teen works through courses that begin at their current subject level. Every graded course result goes straight into the transcript we generate.

What a lesson built around their interests means

Your child learns the same skills a strong course teaches anywhere. We change the material those skills are taught through, so the work starts from something your child already wants to understand.

What changes
The setting. Examples, readings, and projects come from what your child already cares about, such as baking, soccer, or space.
What stays
The skill and the bar. Placement sets the level, and review checkpoints show what needs more practice. Your child still explains their reasoning in reading checks and graded projects.
An example
Two children learn unit rates. One compares the price per ounce of two bags of flour; the other compares two strikers’ goals per game.
Why it helps
A familiar setting makes a new idea easier to picture. In one study, algebra students given problems about their own interests solved them faster and more accurately, and kept that edge on ordinary problems afterward (Walkington, 2013).
Your own subject
A custom subject turns a bigger interest into its own course, with readings, projects, and assessments. See the core subjects and electives

A sample high school lesson

A variable is not a letter to memorize; it is a changing quantity that lets you test whether a system is fair.

Lesson
The Equation Behind a Fair Game Economy
Goal
Translate a real constraint into an equation, solve for an unknown, and explain what the result means in context.
Project
Balance the market stall
algebra lesson "The Equation Behind a Fair Game Economy": the lesson opening, its goal, and its project

Our Always-On Mentor, inside the lesson

Your child highlights anything confusing and asks about it, right where they are working. The mentor offers help when they seem stuck, sketches ideas on its board, and guides each project step without handing over the answer. Even during a reading check, it answers clarifying questions, though never with the answer itself. Choose a mentor inspired by thinkers, scientists, writers, and artists.

Questions parents ask before starting

Who awards high school credits and issues the transcript?
You do, as the homeschool administrator, and we do the paperwork. We generate the transcript with credits and grades from your teen's coursework, so it is ready for your signature.
How do you choose the starting level for an advanced course?
Placement runs separately for each subject and checks the skills that course builds on. If it finds a gap, such as algebra before calculus, the course starts with those skills and then moves into the advanced material.
Can my teen work independently?
Yes. Every lesson explains each idea in full, and our mentor is there at any hour.
Can we use your curriculum for college preparation?
Yes. Choose courses around your teen's goals, and the transcript we generate comes with course descriptions colleges ask for. Applications and any outside testing happen outside the course.
