Homeschool Dual Enrollment in Alabama
Alabama homeschoolers can take college courses through the Alabama Community College System's dual enrollment program, which requires grade 10 or higher, a 2.5 grade point average, and written approval from a principal or superintendent.
How dual enrollment works for homeschoolers
The Alabama Community College System (ACCS) runs dual enrollment at its colleges, and it says scholarships for dual enrollment classes are available. Each college then applies its own placement standards to the courses your child wants.
The approval rule names a principal or superintendent. A homeschooled student does not have a public school principal, so the college tells you whose signature it accepts for a home education student.
The course earns college credit on the college transcript, and your homeschool can also count it toward high school graduation.
