Homeschool Dual Enrollment in Oregon
Oregon homeschoolers take college courses in high school by applying directly to a community college, and the college decides whether a student of that age can enroll.
How college courses work for homeschoolers
Under ORS 341.481, a community college district must admit Oregon high school graduates and may admit other residents, without regard to age, whom its administration judges capable of profiting from a specific course or program. For a student younger than 16, the college administration makes the final decision.
Each college sets its own placement rules for reading, writing, and math courses. The credit appears on a college transcript, and your homeschool can count the course toward its own graduation plan.
Later, the Oregon Promise grant, which helps pay community college tuition, counts finishing 12th grade as a homeschooler the same as a diploma.
