Homeschool Dual Enrollment in South Carolina
South Carolina homeschoolers take college courses in high school by applying directly to a college, which sets its own admission rules for students still in high school.
How college courses work for homeschoolers
Each technical college, college, and university decides how it admits students who are still in a home school program and what it charges them.
The parent or the home school association keeps the transcript, so the college course goes on the record you or your association maintain. The South Carolina Department of Education notes that a district does not automatically accept home school credits if your child later enrolls.
Later, a student who completes a high school home school program as the law requires can qualify for the state's LIFE and Palmetto Fellows scholarships.
