Homeschool benefits: Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District
iLEAD Online lets homeschool students in a program with instructional funds take its individual online courses, such as Biology or Algebra 2 at $399 a semester, and bill the cost to those funds instead of paying out of pocket. At checkout you choose the Homeschool Instructional Funds Invoice option, and your school or teacher of record sends iLEAD a purchase order and issues the grades.
Who qualifies
Has instructional funds
The invoice option is for homeschool families using instructional funds through a home study program, such as a charter school's homeschool program. A private homeschool without such funds pays for courses directly.
Has a teacher of record
Your school or teacher of record must submit a purchase order to iLEAD Online for the invoiced amount and issue the transcript or grades.
Completes orientation
Before being added to any course, your student completes a one-time orientation on the learning platform, online etiquette, and digital citizenship.
Keeps the home school enrollment
Individual courses do not require full-time enrollment at iLEAD Online, so your student stays with the current home study program.

Good to know
Families without charter funds pay directly
The invoice route bills your program's instructional funds through a purchase order from your teacher of record, so a family without such funds pays the course price directly.
UC credit depends on your home school's course list
Your home school must add the iLEAD Online Course Publisher course to its own UC course list. Many courses are marked UC a-g eligible.
Who to contact

Homeschool rules and statewide help in California
For the home-based private-school pathway, file the Private School Affidavit during the October 1–15 annual filing period. New schools may use the online filing system during its separate August 1–June 30 opening window. Other legal pathways have their own rules.
California sets these rules:
- Subjects: The private-school pathway must provide instruction in English in the branches of study required for public schools; the parent chooses the materials and course sequence.
- Testing: California does not impose a statewide standardized-testing requirement on private-school students.
- Records: Private schools must keep the records required by California law, including attendance and faculty information.
- Teachers: Private-school instructors must be capable of teaching; California does not issue a separate homeschool-parent credential.
