Homeschool benefits: Glendora Unified School District

GOAL is Glendora Unified's tuition-free, fully online independent study program for grades 6-12, with Edgenuity courses that meet University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) a-g requirements, a district-issued device, and a credentialed Glendora teacher. Your student stays enrolled at their Glendora school of residence, which approves the placement, and keeps access to its extracurricular activities.

Who qualifies

  1. Enrolled at a Glendora school

GOAL students remain enrolled at their Glendora Unified school of residence, so a homeschooled child would first enroll in the district. That school must approve the placement.

  2. In grades 6-12

GOAL serves middle and high school students and follows the Glendora Unified school calendar.

  3. Signs the Master Agreement

The student, a parent or caregiver, and the teacher agree to the placement in a written contract that sets the course of study and expectations. It is rewritten every school year.

  4. Works daily

Students are expected to complete schoolwork every day, about 4 hours on average.

GOAL is a public school placement under a yearly contract, so your student follows the district calendar and the Master Agreement rather than a private homeschool plan.

How much time will my student spend on school?
About 4 hours a day on average. GOAL expects daily work in grades 6-12, and the courses are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
