Homeschool benefits: Woodland Park School District RE-2
Woodland Park School District's Homeschool Connections opened September 1, 2026, at Gateway Learning Center, giving homeschooled students full or half days of science, art, music, dance, theater, swim classes, field trips, and more with certified teachers, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Enrolled students get free breakfast and lunch; you enroll through the district's 2026-27 student enrollment.
Who qualifies
Homeschools your child
Homeschool Connections is built to complement your homeschool, not replace it, and you keep directing your child's education.
Enrolls with the district
Complete the 26-27 WPSD Student Enrollment application in Infinite Campus and pick a Homeschool Connections option. The school principal reviews each request.
Lives in RE-2 or choice enrolls
Families outside Woodland Park School District RE-2 boundaries also complete the 2026-2027 Choice Enrollment Application.
Is not in private school
Under the 2026 School Finance Act, students enrolled in private schools can no longer join publicly funded dual-enrollment programs.

Homeschool rules and statewide help in Colorado
Give written notice to a Colorado school district 14 days before starting and each year the program continues. Notice is not required before age 6; instruction need not begin until age 7 or continue after age 16.
Colorado sets these rules:
- Subjects: Provide at least 172 days of instruction averaging four instructional contact hours daily, covering reading, writing, speaking, mathematics, history, civics, literature, science, and regular instruction in the U.S. Constitution.
- Testing: Academic evaluation in grades 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11: standardized test or evaluation by a qualified person.
- Records: Permanently keep attendance, test or evaluation results, and required immunization records; produce them on 14 days’ written notice when the superintendent has probable cause to believe the program is noncompliant.
- Teachers: Instruction is provided by a parent or legal guardian, or an adult relative designated by the parent; no teaching license is required.

Questions parents ask
- Can I stay with my child at Homeschool Connections?
- Yes. Parents and guardians may stay, join their student in class alongside the certified teacher, or use the parent lounge.
- Can we combine Homeschool Connections with other district programs?
- Yes. Registration lets you pair it with the Enrichment Academy, which meets Wednesdays at Summit Elementary for grades K-8, with part-time enrollment, or with online courses.
- Which application do I use?
- Use the 26-27 WPSD Student Enrollment application. Do not pick the 2027 Intent to Homeschool application, which is for a different purpose.
- Will there be outdoor and swim options?
- Likely. The district is finalizing partnerships with Catamount Institute for outdoor, hands-on learning and with the Woodland Park Aquatics Center for swim opportunities.
Turn support into your child’s next lesson
Camps and local activities give your child new interests to explore. Their discoveries can shape the examples and questions they study at home.
