Homeschool benefits and savings in Greenwood Village
Greenwood Village pays residents back 50% of recreation activity fees, up to $50 per participant on each receipt, and 50% of annual memberships paid in full, with a cap of $550 per household a year. Any resident household can submit itemized receipts from providers in the Denver region; 2026 receipts are due January 15, 2027.
Who qualifies
Lives in Greenwood Village
Only a primary residence in Greenwood Village qualifies, and the check is mailed to that address.
Uses a regional provider
The provider must be in the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) region, from Longmont to Larkspur and from Silver Plume to Deer Trail.
Pays an eligible activity fee
The fee has to be for the activity itself, such as spring soccer or 18 holes of golf. A package, like 10 personal training sessions, counts as one activity.
Keeps itemized receipts
Each receipt must show the agency name, the date, and the activity.

Homeschool rules and statewide help in Colorado
Give written notice to a Colorado school district 14 days before starting and each year the program continues. Notice is not required before age 6; instruction need not begin until age 7 or continue after age 16.
Colorado sets these rules:
- Subjects: Provide at least 172 days of instruction averaging four instructional contact hours daily, covering reading, writing, speaking, mathematics, history, civics, literature, science, and regular instruction in the U.S. Constitution.
- Testing: Academic evaluation in grades 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11: standardized test or evaluation by a qualified person.
- Records: Permanently keep attendance, test or evaluation results, and required immunization records; produce them on 14 days’ written notice when the superintendent has probable cause to believe the program is noncompliant.
- Teachers: Instruction is provided by a parent or legal guardian, or an adult relative designated by the parent; no teaching license is required.
