Homeschool benefits and savings in Wallingford
Wallingford Public Library's Connecticut Trolley Museum pass admits up to six people at half off the day's admission, and the library says it can be used for the museum's Homeschool Days. Wallingford residents 18 and older reserve it online or by phone up to 30 days ahead.

Each resident may reserve up to four museum passes in 30 days, with one reservation per museum and one per day.

Good to know
No homeschool proof is needed
The pass rules depend on Wallingford residency and age, not school enrollment, so any Wallingford adult can reserve it for a homeschool outing.
The pass can be used once a day
The museum accepts the pass once a day on weekdays, once on a Saturday, and once on a Sunday, so book early for a popular date.
Who to contact about the pass
Wallingford Public Library staff take pass reservations by phone and answer questions about pickup and returns.

Homeschool rules and statewide help in Connecticut
State law does not require a homeschool notice. The State Department of Education asks parents to tell their local school district that they intend to homeschool, but that request is guidance, not a legal requirement.
Connecticut sets these rules:
- Subjects: Instruction in Connecticut must include reading, writing, spelling, English grammar, geography, arithmetic, US history, and citizenship.
- Testing: Connecticut does not require standardized testing for homeschoolers.
- Records: Connecticut does not require homeschool records, but keeping them is recommended.
- Teachers: Connecticut does not require a teaching certificate or degree to homeschool your own child.
