Homeschool benefits: Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation
Greenfield-Central High School lets a homeschooled student enroll in up to two in-person classes while staying homeschooled. Online classes and career center classes are not open to homeschool students, so plan on attending the classes on campus at 810 N. Broadway in Greenfield.

Is a homeschool student
The 2025-2026 student handbook, still the version posted on the school's site, says Greenfield-Central welcomes homeschool students who want to add its academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs.

Homeschool rules and statewide help in Indiana
No state registration or homeschool number is required. On withdrawal, notify the school in writing. For a high-school student, a parent or guardian must also sign the Withdrawal to Non-Accredited Non-public School Located in Indiana form.
Indiana sets these rules:
- Subjects: Provide 180 days of instruction and instruction equivalent to public schools; state law does not define equivalency, and public-school curriculum rules do not apply.
- Testing: Indiana does not require standardized testing for homeschoolers.
- Records: Indiana requires you to keep attendance records.
- Teachers: Indiana does not require a teaching certificate or degree to homeschool your own child.
Indiana also has an education savings account that home-educated students can use.
- The Indiana Education Scholarship Account pays about 90% of state tuition support, for students with a qualifying disability or an eligible sibling. Once enrolled, your child is no longer an independent homeschool student, and the money stays in ClassWallet for approved costs.

Questions parents ask
- When should we ask for Greenfield-Central classes for next fall?
- Ask in the spring. The school plans its course offerings from pre-enrollment requests made in the spring, and seats in a changed class depend on availability.
- Can my student switch classes after the semester starts?
- Only for approved reasons, such as a previously failed course or a missing graduation requirement, within the first 10 days of school. Dropping after the first five class periods records a WF.
- Can my homeschool student join sports or clubs?
- The handbook does not say. It notes that homeschool students may want athletic and extracurricular activities but gives no rules for them, so ask the high school office which activities your student can join.
Turn support into your child’s next lesson
Local classes cover the subjects they offer. We teach the remaining subjects, so a local class can stay part of the year without becoming the whole curriculum.
$149/month per child after the trial.
