- Teachers: Iowa does not require a teaching certificate or degree to homeschool your own child.

Questions parents ask
- Can my child borrow a computer from South Central Calhoun?
- Yes. Every HSAP student gets a dedicated 1:1 device for academic work at home and in postsecondary enrichment classes.
- Can my child join district classes or activities?
- Yes, through dual enrollment, which includes art, band or choir, physical education, and extracurricular activities or sports.
- Does the program cost anything?
- The district does not say. Its page and flyer describe services and loans with no stated price or cash award, so ask the coordinator about costs for the resources or activities you want.
Turn support into your child’s next lesson
Local classes cover the subjects they offer. We teach the remaining subjects, so a local class can stay part of the year without becoming the whole curriculum.
$149/month per child after the trial.
