Questions parents ask
- We live outside Ames but own property in the city. Do we qualify?
- Yes. A nonresident who owns a business or property within Ames city limits and pays property taxes to the city counts as a resident for the scholarship.
- Is the swim pass scholarship limited to kids 4 to 13?
- Not as far as the city says. The swim pass criteria list Ames residency, MICA income guidelines, and all pass members living in the same household, with no separate age rule, so ask MICA to confirm before you buy a family pass.
