Homeschool benefits and savings in the Dunklin R-V School District
Dunklin R-V lets homeschooled children who live inside its boundaries join district sports and Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) activities as Resident Participants under Senate Bill 63. You submit an enrollment packet with proof of residency, academic records, a physical, and proof of insurance to the Herculaneum High School athletic director, and the district answers within 10 business days.
Who qualifies
Lives in the district
Your child must physically live within Dunklin R-V boundaries, and you provide official proof of residency with the packet.
Shows passing work
Submit a portfolio of work, academic records, or other agreed documentation showing your child is passing all courses, at the same standard enrolled students meet.
Meets MSHSAA rules
Your child must meet MSHSAA age, amateur status, and transfer requirements, the same as enrolled students. The high school principal and athletic director decide eligibility.
Follows the code of conduct
Resident Participants are held to the district's Student Code of Conduct and can be suspended or removed from an activity for violations.

Homeschool rules and statewide help in Missouri
No annual homeschool registration required. If withdrawing from public school, a written notice requesting removal from its rolls documents the change.
Missouri sets these rules:

- Testing: Missouri does not require standardized testing for homeschoolers.
- Records: For students under 16, keep a subject and activity record, a work-sample portfolio, and progress evaluations, or equivalent written or credible evidence.
- Teachers: No state teaching-license or degree requirement for a homeschool instructor.
