Homeschool reimbursement and benefits in North Carolina
North Carolina gives eligible children with disabilities $9,000 a year, or $17,000 for designated disabilities, to buy approved homeschool education and services. The next application opens the first Monday in February 2027; a public-school disability eligibility determination is required.
Who qualifies
Document a disability
Submit an eligibility determination issued by a North Carolina public school within the last three years. A 504 plan does not qualify.
Live in North Carolina
You must live in North Carolina when applying, unless military orders require your family to relocate there.

Accept the service release
