Homeschool rules and statewide help in Oklahoma

Oklahoma law does not require a homeschool filing. The state education department recommends notifying the school when withdrawing a student; that recommendation is not a statutory approval process.

Oklahoma sets these rules:

Questions parents ask

Is the CHOICES waiver still limited to 1,050 hours?
No. The current college page sets a $2,400 dollar cap and gives 48 months to use the waiver, not the 30-month start window still shown on the state summary.
Can my student receive the award as cash?
No. Central Tech says the waiver is not redeemable for cash; it applies to eligible tuition.
Will it pay for books or certification tests?
No. CHOICES excludes supplies, fees, books, tools, and certification examination fees, so your family pays those costs.
