Homeschool benefits and savings in Yukon
A free Yukon Parks and Recreation facility membership opens the Jackie Cooper Gymnasium, the Yukon Community Center, and the Dale Robertson Center to your family. Anyone who lives in ZIP code 73099 qualifies, so a homeschool family gets cards for everyone over age six by bringing an ID or Yukon water bill with a 73099 address to any of the three centers.

Good to know
Membership is based on ZIP code, not school
The free Yukon membership is based on living in ZIP code 73099, not on school enrollment, so your homeschooled children get cards along with the rest of your household.
Both centers open at 7 a.m. on weekdays
The Jackie Cooper Gymnasium has two full-size courts for basketball and volleyball, and the Yukon Community Center has a basketball court, game room, weight room, pool table, and ping pong table. Both open at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday.
Cards start above age six
Children under six are not issued a card; cards go to household members above age six. Call the center you plan to visit about bringing younger children.
Who to contact about the membership
The Parks and Recreation main office and each center answer membership questions.

Homeschool rules and statewide help in Oklahoma
Oklahoma law does not require a homeschool filing. The state education department recommends notifying the school when withdrawing a student; that recommendation is not a statutory approval process.
Oklahoma sets these rules:
- Subjects: Instruction should cover reading, writing, mathematics, science, citizenship, the U.S. Constitution, health, safety, physical education, and conservation.
- Testing: Oklahoma does not require a statewide standardized test for homeschoolers.
- Records: No routine state submission is required; attendance and work records are prudent evidence that instruction is being provided.
- Teachers: No state homeschool-parent credential is required.
