Homeschool benefits and savings in the Kiamichi Technology Center district
Kiamichi Tech’s Steps to Success scholarship pays tuition for one full-time career major, up to 1,050 hours, or one short-term program leading to an industry certification. Your homeschool graduate must live in the district and use the scholarship within two years of completing secondary education.
Who qualifies
Lives in the Kiamichi district
Your student must reside in the Kiamichi Tech district to qualify for Steps to Success.
Completes secondary education
Completion of secondary education in a home school setting qualifies, alongside graduation from a Kiamichi partner school or a high school equivalency credential.
Uses it within two years
The college limits eligibility to two years after completion of the qualifying secondary education or equivalency credential.
Chooses one qualifying program
The award applies to one full-time career major of up to 1,050 hours or one short-term program leading to an industry certification. It pays tuition only.

- Full-time training at the 1,050-hour cap
- $2,100 at the standard rate

Good to know
Homeschool graduates can qualify
Kiamichi lists completion of secondary education in a home school setting as a qualifying route. District residence and the two-year eligibility window still apply.
Short-term classes qualify if they lead to certification
Steps to Success can pay for a single short-term program that leads to an industry certification. The other option is a full-time career major with no more than 1,050 training hours.
$2,100 is not a flat award
The $2,100 figure is the tuition calculation for 1,050 hours at the standard $2 in-district adult rate. Practical Nursing and Paramedic programs have different rates, and short-term program prices are not given as a flat scholarship amount.
Who to contact

Homeschool rules and statewide help in Oklahoma
Oklahoma law does not require a homeschool filing. The state education department recommends notifying the school when withdrawing a student; that recommendation is not a statutory approval process.
Oklahoma sets these rules:
- Subjects: Instruction should cover reading, writing, mathematics, science, citizenship, the U.S. Constitution, health, safety, physical education, and conservation.
- Testing: Oklahoma does not require a statewide standardized test for homeschoolers.
- Records: No routine state submission is required; attendance and work records are prudent evidence that instruction is being provided.
- Teachers: No state homeschool-parent credential is required.

Questions parents ask
- Are books and supplies included?
- No. Steps to Success covers tuition only, so students pay additional class expenses. The separate free-books-and-supplies offer on the cost page is for in-district high school students in full-time programs.
- Where do we apply?
- The financial aid and scholarships page links the Steps to Success application. A campus financial aid coordinator can explain which completion and residency documents your homeschool graduate needs.
