Homeschool benefits and savings in Rose State service-area districts

Rose State College’s Ticket to Rose pays remaining standard tuition and mandatory fees after grants and scholarships for eligible class of 2026 graduates. Your homeschool graduate qualifies if your custodial-parent residence is inside an eligible school district, your student graduates with at least a 2.5 weighted grade-point average, and they meet the enrollment and aid requirements.

Who qualifies

  1. Graduates in 2026 within eligible boundaries

For a homeschool graduate, the custodial parent must live within the official boundaries of Carl Albert, Choctaw, Del City, Midwest City, or Star Spencer school districts. Provide residence proof such as a utility bill in that parent’s name.

  2. Submits the final transcript

Your student’s official final high school transcript must show the graduation date and a cumulative weighted grade-point average of at least 2.5. The transcript serves as the scholarship application; there is no separate Ticket to Rose application.

  3. Files for federal student aid

Complete the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), using Rose State school code 009185. Submit all requested aid documents by the last day of the fall 2026 semester.

  4. Starts in fall with nine credits

Your student must be admitted, declare a major, and enroll in at least nine credits in the fall immediately after graduation. The summer immediately following high school graduation is not funded.

Homeschool rules and statewide help in Oklahoma

Oklahoma law does not require a homeschool filing. The state education department recommends notifying the school when withdrawing a student; that recommendation is not a statutory approval process.

Questions parents ask

How long can my student keep the award?
Funding stops at the earliest of 66 attempted credit hours, three consecutive years, or completion of the first associate degree. Concurrent-enrollment credits count toward the 66-hour limit.
Can my student skip a semester or attend part time?
No. Your student must stay continuously enrolled in at least nine credits each fall and spring and keep satisfactory academic progress. Any enrollment lapse permanently ends Ticket to Rose eligibility.
Can it cover summer courses?
Only later summers. The summer right after high school graduation is excluded; later summers can be funded with enrollment of at least three credit hours.
