Who qualifies

  1. Gets homeschool-evaluator approval

The college directs homeschool students to begin by asking their evaluator to approve participation, then follow dual-enrollment admission and registration steps.

  2. Establishes sponsoring-district residency

Tuition depends on residence and district sponsorship. Sponsoring districts determine residency, and the college's Business Office handles documentation and sponsorship questions.

  3. Meets course prerequisites

Your student must meet the same prerequisites as other college students. Placement testing may be needed when high school grades or standardized test scores cannot establish readiness.

  4. Arranges payment or scholarship support

Limited scholarships are available to qualified dual-enrollment students whose school or district does not already pay for classes. A scholarship application is separate from admission.

From applying to keeping it

  1. Before admission

    Discuss evaluator approval

Agree on participation and how the course will fit your student's high school work.

  2. Before registration

    Complete admission and placement

Follow the college's dual-enrollment steps, confirm residency sponsorship, and satisfy course prerequisites or placement testing.

  3. When registering

    Arrange payment

Dual-enrollment tuition is due upon registration. If no school or district pays, apply for one of the limited scholarships through the college's scholarship process.

  4. Before classes

    Plan materials and transportation

For fall and winter 2026, the Textbooks+ charge is $33 per credit unless you opt out within the allowed period. You arrange travel to campus; parking is free.

  5. Each term

    Monitor classes and deadlines

Use myLCCC for grades. Contact the dual-enrollment office to drop a course by the college deadline; nonattendance does not remove the tuition bill.

Questions parents ask

Does LCCC's dual enrollment tuition include books?
No. Fall and winter 2026 carry a $33-per-credit Textbooks+ fee with an opt-out window, and spring 2027 switches to course-specific Textbook ACCESS costs.
Can we get a scholarship for LCCC dual enrollment?
Possibly. The college offers a limited number to qualified students whose school or district does not already pay; apply through the scholarship application or the Student Resources section of myLCCC.
Can college courses count toward homeschool graduation?
It depends on your evaluator. The college says the school counselor confirms high school graduation substitutions, so for a homeschool, discuss approval with the evaluator before choosing courses.
What if we leave a class?
You must formally drop by the published deadline. A student dropped for nonattendance still owes the full tuition, and unpaid balances can block future registration and release of official transcripts.
