Homeschool Tax Deductions and Credits in Nevada

No. Nevada has no state homeschool funding, and its Educational Choice Scholarship pays the chosen school directly, so it covers private school tuition rather than a homeschool.

Why the scholarship excludes homeschools

Nevada's Educational Choice Scholarship Program, in NRS 388D.270, lets scholarship organizations give grants to students from households at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty level. Each grant must be paid directly to the school the parent chooses.

A homeschool is not a school that can receive the grant, so homeschooling families pay their own costs.

Public school districts must still let homeschooled children take part in classes and extracurricular activities when space is available, with a current notice of intent to participate on file.
